We
will be upgrading our mailservers between the hours of 02:00 and 12:00 on the mornings of 6th April and 7th April.
During this time, email may be unavailable for a short period of time while the servers are restarted.
We are at
an advanced stage in the process of implementing an improved
and more resilient email platform. A small proportion
of our email clients may, however, still experience intermittent
problems retrieving mail due to this switchover process.
We are fully committed to ensuring an effective service for our
customers and are making significant investments to ensure our
services are market leading and regret a small
number of our customers may be impacted during our infrastructure
upgrade.
Due to the complex nature of this change, and with
over 1.5 million mailboxes to consider, we have to ensure that
we minimise any further customer impacting issues during this
period. Therefore we are unable to provide you with definitive
timescales,
but will be progressing with this in the coming month and providing
further updates to keep you informed.

Customers
using BT Yahoo! Broadband may find that they are now
unable to send emails from Standard POP3 mailboxes. This is due
to a security update by BT, who have today announced that they
are now preventing BT Yahoo! Broadband users from sending emails
from software such as Microsoft Outlook and Thunderbird, when
the "From" email address is not a BT Yahoo! email address
or a "validated alternative email address". Please
refer to the BT
Yahoo! Service Status page for more details.
We
would like to remind customers that we can provide "Roaming
SMTP" with Advanced and Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, enabling
you to send email using your PC software, regardless of your
broadband provider. Prices start from £20 per annum ex
VAT. |
